Pneumatic Cylinder Tubing
NITRO
PROCESSED TUBING
Extended cylinder service life is the benefit Nitro
Processed tube and bar brings to the customer. This increase in
service life over systems using hard chrome plate systems from
several Nitro Processed product attributes including superior
corrosion resistance, wear resistance and dent resistance.
Nitro Processed products are not plated; the iron nitride
surface wear layer is part of the steel itself. If corrosion
does occur the seals contact only surface rust and tend to wipe
over the rust site without self-destructing. This passive mode
of failure, coupled with Nitro Processed steel's inherently
better corrosion resistance, will give hydraulic and pneumatic
systems significantly longer field service life before
detrimental leakage occurs.

SURFACE HARDNESS: |
64
Rc min. to 71 Rc max. 001'' thickness per
side. (as determined by Knoop Microhardness
testing). Beneath the wear layer a hardened
diffusion zone of .015'' / .020'' depth
generates significant dent resistance in the
tubes. |
